Kompangs and Malay Wedding Ceremonies Can Never Be Separated

Every member is equipped with a Kompang each. Rhythm established
In synch with the rest
This is the leader that ensures that.
In her loadest vocal to compete with the loud kompang beatings.
This member is in deep "trance" ... hard work shown.
Here comes the bride and groom ... king n queen of the day.
Groom is of Javanes-Malay blood whilst bride is Arab-Chinese mix
The "kompang", played like the tambourine, is the most popular Malay traditional instrument. It is widely used for various occasions, especially during wedding ceremonies to signal the arrival of the bride and groom as shown in this collection, which I attended today in a small town of Tanjong Karang, about an hour drive away from Kuala Lumpur.
